Two men have been arrested for leasing a car and selling it to someone else

Bengaluru : The Central Crime Branch(CCB) has arrested two persons for allegedly cheating a car rental company by renting and selling cars. 27 cars were seized by the detainees.

The accused have been identified as Mohan and Girish Gowda. The manager of the car rental company had lodged a complaint with the Biappanahalli police on December 30 against them, police said. “In July 2020, Girish Gowda and Mohan visited our office and rented a car. On several occasions, he had rented 20 cars. However, they have not returned them and we have learned that the two vehicles have been sold to others, ”he said in the complaint.

The case has been shifted to the CCB and the two officers have been arrested for collecting information about the accused.

“27 cars were seized based on information. Cash and gold ornaments and other items were also seized from the accused,” police said.
