No Political Entry for Shashikala

Bengaluru: VK Sasikala, who was sentenced to life imprisonment for illegal property acquisition, will be released on January 27.

But her niece and co-accused Ilavarasi is still in jail for working days. Sasikala, Ilavarasi, and another relative VN Sudhakar have been serving jail terms since February 2017.

Sasikala and Ilavarasi, who are in jail in the illegal asset-making case, have been identified on the basis of days spent in jail, sources said. Sasikala, Ilavarasi and Sudhakaran were jailed for 21 days, including Jayalalithaa.
