Massive drop in new corona cases globally: WHO

The number of new cases of Covidi-19 was down last week, with 3.6 million new cases globally, the World Health Organization said.
The WHO said 4 million new infections were reported last week, and this week the number is still dropping.
In a recent update on the epidemic released Tuesday, the WHO said there was a significant decrease in cases in two areas. There was a 22 percent decline in the Middle East and a 16 percent decline in Southeast Asia.
The UN Health Organization said last week that there were less than 60,000 deaths. This is a drop of 7 percent. While Southeast Asia saw a 30 per cent decrease in Covid-19 deaths, the Western Pacific region accounted for about 30 per cent. It said an increase of 7 per cent.
Most coronavirus cases have been found in the US, India, Britain, Turkey and the Philippines. The fastest-spreading delta variant has now been found in 185 countries. The WHO says it is in every part of the world.
