Visa Violation: 20 foreign nationals arrested by CCB police

Bengaluru : CCB police have arrested 20 African nationals for illegally staying in the city despite the expiry of their visa.

Three African nationals were among the detainees involved in counterfeit currency, drug trafficking and other criminal activity, police said on Monday.

The CCB team led by Joint Commissioner of Police, Sandeep Patil, has seized 80 African nationals in a 34-hour operation amid complaints of disturbances and disturbances by African nationals residing in the Hennur, Bagalur, Kottanur and Sampigehalli police stations.

Some of the detainees remain in the city even after the visa has expired, some of whom do not have a passport, police said. The police have registered cases under various statutes and further investigation is in progress.
