The Government of India has sought permission from Pakistan for the use of the Srinagar-Sharjah air route

NEW DELHI: The Government of India has requested the Pakistani government to grant permission to use the air route for flights between Srinagar and Sharjah City of India.

India has appealed to Pakistan to provide clearance for the Sharjah airline from Srinagar on Go First Airlines, government officials said on Thursday.
Pakistan is not allowed to use the aircraft in its airspace to fly from Srinagar to Sharjah. So we have to go a long way to get to Sharjah, UAE. Go First, formerly known as Go Air, has launched direct flights between Srinagar and Sharjah from October 23rd. The service was inaugurated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who visited the Valley last month.

Pakistani authorities issued overflight clearance to Gofast aircraft to operate in the Srinagar-Sharjah sector on October 23, 24, 26 and 28, a source said.
