“BENGALURU ‘ZOMBIE DRUG’ VIDEO DEBUNKED: POLICE REVEAL TRUTH BEHIND VIRAL FOOTAGE”

A video recently circulated on Instagram showing a man in a trance-like, disoriented state near Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology in Yelahanka. Social media users quickly labeled the behavior as the effect of a “zombie drug,” leading to significant public concern and viral rumors.

Taking swift action, officers from the Bagalur Police Station traced and secured the individual. To ensure public safety and verify the claims, the man was immediately taken for a comprehensive medical examination.

The medical reports have now officially cleared the air. According to the Bengaluru City Police:

  • No Narcotics Found: Tests confirmed that no known narcotic or psychotropic substances were present in the individual’s system.
  • The Real Cause: The individual suffers from arthritis. His disoriented condition was the result of consuming prescribed pain medication alongside alcohol, which led to the temporary physical imbalance seen in the footage.

Further inquiry revealed that the man is a migrant laborer who moved to Bengaluru three months ago in search of a livelihood.

A WARNING TO NETIZENS

The Bengaluru City Police have issued a stern warning against the spread of unverified information:

While the police reiterate a “Zero Tolerance” policy toward actual drug abuse, they urge citizens to report suspicious incidents directly to the police instead of circulating unverified videos online .Sharing misleading content can cause unnecessary public alarm and unfairly damage an individual’s reputation.Authorities have stated that strict action will be taken against those found spreading false information or rumors on social media.
