Fireworks explode, eyes of 25 children in Bengaluru

Bengaluru -More than 25 children were injured in a fireworks display in the city during the Diwali celebrations.Children with eye injuries are being treated at Minto, Narayana Nethralaya, Kamakshi and other hospitals.

Five of them have been treated at Minto Eye Hospital, 16 in Narayana Nethralaya and 6 in other hospitals. All but six of them were treated and returned home. 9-year-old Harman Khan, of Basavanagudi, is suffering from skin burns on his face, eyes, and is being treated at Minto Hospital.
Doctors said the upper skin of the eyes was burned and there was no damage to the eyes. Dr. Nagarabawi’s 9-year-old Prajwal Bijili, whose five-year-old hormone fireworks in Goripalaya is damaged and is being treated, said Dr Chiminto Eye Hospital Director Dr. Said Sujata Rathod.
