Covid negative report mandatory for those coming from Kerala

Karnataka police have clarified that restrictions imposed in the Karnataka border districts of Kerala ,will continue due to the high prevalence of coronavirus in Kerala.

Talking about this, Karnataka ADGP (Law & Order) CH Pratap Reddy said restrictions in border districts will continue till the test positive rate in Kerala is reduced. He said that those coming from Kerala to Karnataka should have a mandatory Covid test negative report.

CH Pratap Reddy, who visited the Talapady interstate border today, said that the Dakshina Kannada district has taken a tough step against the backdrop of high prevalence of infection in Kerala. This is why we too are following the order of the district.

“Following the directions of the state government, the Dakshina Kannada district has imposed some restrictions on Kerala’s traffic to prevent the spread of Kovid-19. The government has mandated RT-PCR negative reporting for the people of Kerala. Only students traveling for emergency purposes and attending exams are exempt. Students without a hall ticket can use their identification card. He said these restrictions will continue till the positive rate in Kerala reaches normal levels.

Similarly, those who travel by trains are allowed to travel with RT-PCR negative reports. “The Railway has opened a test and quarantine at the Town Hall in Mangalore. Having said that, we will take the responsibility of conducting the respective districts.

Talking about access restrictions despite the vaccination doses taken by passengers who violate the central government mandate, the ADGP said they would discuss the issue with the central and state government’s health departments.
