Covid Effect: RT-PCR Negative Report Mandatory for Bandipur Weekend Safari

Covid infection is on the rise in neighboring states of Kerala and Maharashtra, with serious consequences on the state. Against this backdrop, the Mysore District Board and the Karnataka Forest Department have taken stringent action and imposed restrictions on tourist places.

District Collector Dr MR Ravi issued the order on Monday, which will go into effect till August 15.

It is mandatory to show the Negative Report Certificate of RTCPR Examination within 72 hours to conduct the safari in , Bandipur. Similarly, the RTPCR Negative report should be shown for night stays in Resort, Home Stay, Lodge and Forest Department lodges.

Tourists visiting the famous tourist destinations such as Bharuchukki Falls and Hogenakkal Falls are restricted to Saturday and Sunday.

Weekend Safaris are bundled in the wake of the order. Officials said that it is compulsory for those descending on the Bandipur Tiger Reserve to have an R’T-PCR negative report.

Dr. Mahesh Kumar, Director of the Nagarahole Tiger Reserve, is in talks with the District Collector of Mysore and Kodagu. Both districts are close to Kabini, saying that the increase in infection has created anxiety among us.

We are also considering making the Covid negative report and vaccine certificate mandatory. However, the Department of Health is not getting proper support. However, forest officials said that restrictions on access to the Kerala border would help to keep the population uninhabitable and maintain Covid-19.
