PSI launches mobile public toilet at the junction of Karnataka

Karnataka: Sub Inspector Shanthappa Jademannavar, who launched an online campaign 100 days ago to open public toilets at the junction of the Goraguntepalya junction of the Bangalore-Tumkur highway, launched a traffic toilet on Wednesday.

The toilets were inaugurated. Of the 10 toilets, five are reserved for men, three for women and two for tertiary sex. Sub Inspector has received assistance from some volunteers to build this mobile public toilet.

The toilet I’ve built is free of charge, though. These were built at a cost of about Rs 1 lakh. With the help of some, mobile toilets are finally open to the public, PSI said.

“One will take care of the cleanliness and maintenance of these toilets,”

At the junction of Goruguntepalya, his mother, without a public toilet, started the PSI Twitter campaign and tagged it with representatives and officials. However, he received no response. The toilet was opened in the face of opposition from some locals and was run by a third party Bhangani. The PSI said it had received assistance from the local traffic police.

The same police officer, Shanthappa Jademannavar, posted a video of cleaning a public toilet in the city that went viral on social networks.
