Covid-19: Dasara’s new challenge to Mysore

Mysore:  which was previously No. 2 on Covid19, has gradually reduced its number of infected people. But it is against this backdrop that the Dasara festival has begun, with fears of increasing numbers of infected people in the cultural city.

The Mysore district has released the figures, saying that Covid19 is now under control in Mysore district. Due to the increasing number of coronavirus infections, Mysore is the second largest state in terms of both positive and death rates. In September there were an average of 800 to 1000 positive cases and 8 to 10 deaths per day.

The government, which witnessed this amount of Covid cases, decided  to celebrate the simple Dasara.

In Mysore, there were 2500 corona tests every month in September. That’s up from 4000 in October.

Speaking on the issue, Mysore District Collector Rohini Sindhuri said, “One of the major concerns in the district is the low Covid19 testing and the availability of oxygen beds. After I took charge, the focus was on reducing the death toll, and for the same reason the district increased the Covid test. Nodal officers were appointed in the city for better coordination and daily inspection with all. There was a lot of effort in the first two weeks, which has now yielded results. we will continue to do this.

Similarly, the number of people arriving in the city for the sake of Dasara is increasing.
