Sasikala may be out of Jail before Tamil Nadu polls-

Bengaluru : Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa’s colleague VK Shashikala, who is expected to be released from a Bangalore jail in January next year, was jailed in 2017 in an illegal property case. She could be released from jail on January 27, 2021, once she pays the penalty. If he fails to pay the fine, he will have to serve a further year in prison until February 27, 2022.

Superintendent of Public Information Department, Bangalore Central Prison Lata gave this information. According to jail records, prisoner number 9234 Shashikala ‘probable date for release’ is January 27, 2021. This will only happen if she pays the court fine.

If not, Shashikala’s ‘release date’ will be February 27, 2022. “The release date may change if Sasikala once used the parole facility.

Currently, Shashikala has been placed in Bangalore’s Parappana Agrahara Central Prison. Sashikala has been in the same jail since February 15, 2017. She has been sentenced to four years in prison under the Jayalalithaa illegal property gain case. Fine of 10 crore with a four-year jail term.  Sasikala’s nephew Sudhakaran and his close friend J. Ilavarasi have also been imprisoned on the same charge.
