Massive operation of Bangalore policeMore than 1 ton of marijuana hidden in the tunnel

Bengaluru : Bengaluru city police have launched a war against drugs and have seized four tonnes of marijuana weighing 1 tonne 350 kg and 300 grams hidden in a tunnel during a massive operation carried out by central police.

Accused: Ghanashekhar (37), an auto driver by profession, Siddhnath Lavate (22) from Sindagi taluk in Vijayapur district, Naganatha (39) from Aurad taluk in Bidar district and Chandrakant (34) from Kalagi Taluk in Kalaburagi district.

Among the accused, Ghanashekhar was supplying marijuana to college students. Siddhnath Lavate  owns more than 30 acres of land. He has been delivering marijuana from Andhra Pradesh to various customers including Mumbai and Bangalore. Naganath was in the clothing shop and finance business.

He was selling marijuana from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana. The accused Chandrakantwas a farmer. He has been a sheep farmer and has been dealing with marijuana for the past four and a half years. The police commissioner said he was carrying large quantities of marijuana from Odisha and Andhra.
