Lorry strike from Friday demanding fulfillment of demand; Varying possibility of milk supply in Bengaluru

BANGALORE: There has been a disruption in the supply of milk in the city as the owners of Bangalore Milk Union Limited delivery vehicles continued their strike in front of the offices of the Karnataka Milk Union in Bengaluru.
The strike led by the Karnataka State Lorry Owners and Agents Association is being called on the growing demand from the transporters to revise the new rules and costs of the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF).
The protestors said the problem escalated as KMF and Bangalore Milk Union Limited (BAMUL) refused to revise milk transportation charges, especially when gas prices rose.
Owners of 250 lorries under contract with Bangalore Milk Union Limited will go on strike on Friday, complaining that they have not been adequately paid in expenses despite the hike in gas prices.
