The state government has now raised the electricity price hike by 35 paise per unit
Bengaluru: The state government has now raised the electricity tariff by 35 paise per unit for the people of the state who are worried by the hike in petrol, diesel and gas prices.
The Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) has hiked the tariff by 35 paise per unit, effective from April 1.
BESCOM, HESCOM, Jesscom and Mescom have increased the amount by 35 paise. Not only is the electricity price rising, the electricity tariff has also increased. The fixed rate has been increased from 10 to 30 rupees.
The rate hike is inevitable in order to recover Rs 2159.48 crore of revenue deficit in the financial year 2022-23. The amount amounted to a deficit of Rs. KERC said it would include Rs 1700.49 crore.
