Revoke the Suspension Order of MLAs, or Face Intense Protest: Opposition Leader R. Ashoka Demands

Speaker U.T. Khader Has Acted Against BJP Out of Malice to Secure a Ministerial Position
Bengaluru, April 3
Opposition leader R. Ashoka has warned of an intense protest if the suspension order of 18 MLAs is not revoked.
Speaking to reporters at Vidhana Soudha, he stated that the MLAs had staged a protest against the reservation granted to Muslims and in condemnation of the honeytrap case. He added that if Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had announced an investigation through the CBI, SIT, or provided any clarification, the protest could have been withdrawn. However, he alleged that Speaker U.T. Khader did not even extend the courtesy of speaking to the suspended MLAs.
He further accused the Speaker of siding with the Congress government. With cabinet reshuffling on the horizon, R. Ashoka claimed that the Speaker expects to secure a ministerial position by taking action against opposition members. He emphasized that the Speaker’s chair is highly respectable, yet while he welcomes people for photographs, he suspends MLAs for protesting near the podium. He strongly demanded the immediate revocation of the suspension order.
