HSRP number plate implementation deadline extended again

Bengaluru: The state government on Monday once again extended the deadline for installation of high-security registration plates (HSRP) for vehicles registered before April 2019.

Even though the deadline has been extended four times, most of the vehicle owners have not adopted HSRP number plates. Therefore, the state government has extended the deadline again today and issued an order giving time for the installation of HSRP number plates till the end of this month i.e. November 30.

If the number plate is not changed by November 30, the transport department has decided to impose a fine from December 1

Fitting of HSRP number plates has been made mandatory for all vehicles in the state, including two-wheelers, autos and four-wheelers.

The state government has mandated mandatory installation of HSRP number plates which include additional security measures to protect against fraud and theft.
