Negative report is not mandatory after Covid-infected home isolation: Gaurav Gupta

Bengaluru: BBMP Commissioner Gaurav Gupta said the Covid negative test was not mandatory after Coronavirus victims completed home isolation.

Speaking to reporters, BBMP Commissioner Gaurav Gupta said Covid Positive should be at home isolation for 7 days. There is no need for any kind of negative certificate if the infection symptoms do not appear after isolation. However, if there are signs of infection, it is clear that there must be a short day of home isolation. He added that those who were in home isolation should be informed about the home insulation by showing a covid positive report 7 days before public inspection.

According to the guidelines for Home Isolation issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, negative testing is not required after 7 days of isolation.

Responding to a question on whether companies insist on employees reporting a Covid negative, BBMP Commissioner Gaurav Gupta said that this is not correct and that the authorities will look into the matter.
