Corona Positive for 55 policemen deployed to safety during mekedatu rally

Karnataka : Covid 19 positives have been reported to police officers, staff and their family members in Kolar, KGF and Chikkaballapur who were deployed to safety during the Congress mekedatu rally. 

Reports indicate that 55 police personnel on duty have been diagnosed with coronavirus.

All District SPs have been instructed to set up separate quarters for the isolation and treatment of the infected. IGP M Chandrashekhar said that all those who were assigned to duty during the hike are being tested and all are being kept in isolation until the medical report is negative. 

According to sources, of the 110 policemen in Kolar, 43 have been tested so far, of which 25 are known to be infected. 

Of the 110 personnel on duty from the KGF, 60 were tested. Of these, 20 have been positive. Of the 125 policemen who were checked in Chikkaballapur, 10 were positive.
