UP election confidence of the next government promising to follow EC guidelines
The Central Election Commission on Saturday announced the date for the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly polls, which have been welcomed by seven major political parties including the ruling BJP, the Samajwadi Party, the Congress and the BSP.
One of the most important and politically critical states in the heart of Hindi, the ruling Uttar Pradesh BJP and the main opposition Socialist Party have expressed confidence in forming the next government.
Most importantly, in the wake of the escalating Covid-19 cases across the country, the Election Commission has banned political parties from holding road shows, hikes or rallies in the five states that will face the assembly elections until January 15.
Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, who welcomed the election schedule, expressed confidence that the BJP would create another double engine in the state by winning over 300 seats in the upcoming elections and that the BJP would repeat its 2017 performance.
CM Yogi said that when the results were announced on March 10, the BJP would again be able to form a government with a tremendous majority. He said he would follow the guidelines of the Election Commission.
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has expressed confidence that he will win the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections after the five-state assembly schedule is announced.
Addressing a press conference in Lucknow , Akhilesh Yadav said that the people of Uttar Pradesh are ready to say goodbye to the BJP government through this election.
Electoral rules are followed by their party. However, the Election Commission should ensure that the ruling party too follows these guidelines.
“The people of Uttar Pradesh are ready to say goodbye to the BJP government. These dates indicate a drastic change in the state. The public has a chance to make a decision by March 10. The Samajwadi Party will follow the rules, but the Election Commission should know whether the ruling BJP is following these guidelines. ”
