Final decision from Center for Booster dose vaccine

BENGALURU : The Center will take a final decision on the third booster dose vaccine in the wake of the rise in Covid-19 infection.
Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru, Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Krishna Das said the issue is related to the country and the Center and ICMR have decided on the Covid-19 third dose vaccine.
The World Health Organization report is expected to be published by December 1 on the severity and effects of the Omicron strain virus. He said the new measures would be planned later.
Omicron strain coronavirus infection has been detected in 18 countries. As a result, Bangalore and Mangalore international airports and ports, along with inter-state boundaries, need to be tightened, he said.
A high-level meeting will be held today to discuss Kovid-19 control measures and vaccination. He said the meeting will discuss international traveler testing, the treatment of the infected and the quarantine guidelines of the non-infected.
Samples of both throat and nasal fluid detected by Covid from South Africa have been sent for genetic sequencing studies. No report yet. He said it would be clear once the report arrives.
