Make sure all students are vaccinated before the start of physical classes: Minister Ashwath Narayan

Karnataka : Higher education minister CN Ashwath Narayana has instructed the Chancellors of all universities in the state to give preference to students completing the vaccine by July 7.

He spoke to reporters after a video conversation with the chancellors of all the universities on Friday about the vaccination of students.

All students must be vaccinated before the physical classes begin, and the vaccine, which is regularly supplied, must be coordinated with relevant authorities. Academic activity should not stop for any reason, nor should it affect the future of students. All Chancellors should take vaccination seriously. Once the vaccination is complete, it will be decided to start a physical class. Until then, online classes will continue.

Although the students are already provided all the information via digital platforms, the helpline system will be designed for further convenience. Helpline should be placed in the respective VV range. The government will give it full cooperation. He said this would be a good initiative in the wake of the implementation of the National Education Policy.

According to data provided by the department so far (June 27-30), 2,58,069 people have been vaccinated. Of these, 2,26,467 students, 18,956 teachers and other non-teaching staff have been vaccinated.

Dakshina Kannada district tops the list of vaccine vaccines with 22,678 college students and 25,992 vaccines. Meanwhile, in Bengaluru alone, 7,956 students and staff have been vaccinated, with the Vice Chancellor given the option to extend the deadline by two to three days if necessary.
