Kamal Pant’s continuation as Bangalore Police Commissioner ?

Bengaluru : Bangalore City Police Commissioner Kamal Pant’s term ends on April 30, and the city has to appoint a new commissioner. Kamal Pant should be promoted to the post of DGP from the position of City Police Commissioner.

Kamal Pant is a 1990s IPS officer and the state’s senior ADGP. DGP (Training) PK Garg’s tenure also ends on April 30.

However, the government has no interest in ousting Kamal Pant from the post of city police commissioner.

There have been rumors that the government has decided to pursue the cause of Kamal Pant’s tenure in office without any controversy. There is no specific reason for the government to remove him if he is promoted.

B Dayanand, ADGP of 1994, is in the race for Commissioner. Sources said that Pratap Reddy, ADGP of Law & Order Division, Sunil Agarwal, and Amrit Paul are also in the race.
