Karnataka: The state government is planning to set up vaccine centers in the larger apartment complexes of the seven districts of the state in the form of testing centers.

A recent Covid advisory panel suggested this move would help speed up the vaccination process.
“We have advised the government to open a vaccine center in apartment complexes, where we can have mobile vans with all facilities for monitoring and storing the vaccine, and helping to get vaccinated on the doorstep,” said Dr MC Manjunath, a member of the advisory committee.

According to experts, the logistics of establishing such a center are being formulated and will be implemented soon.

He said it would not take long to establish mobile vaccination centers in overcrowded areas. Since senior citizens don’t have to rely on someone else to bring them to hospitals, going door-to-door vaccination can help.
