Karnataka State Legal Service Authority statement to the High Court of Karnataka

Bengaluru :Toys sold by 886 children at the signals from 432 Locations
It is estimated that 886 children in the city are involved in the Toy sale at signals .It require a full scale survey to accurately identify those children as told by Karnataka State Legal Service Authority .
The activity of mapping and data collection of vulnerable children was undertaken by KSLSA . More than 112 members (including various Ngo’s & volunteers) along with Human Rights & Anti Corruption Forum – HQ- Delhi ,had participated in the mapping process.
A Division Bench headed by Chief Justice Abhay Shreeniwas Oka appreciated Karnataka State Legal Service Authority for taking the initiatives to locate poverty children.
It was observed that 432 locations in the City with 886 children are selling toys. Regarding this a proper survey has to be conducted and Need assistance by BBMP ,Police and other official ,As reported by Karnataka State Legal Service Authority.
KSLSA Also provided explanations on the child helpline 1098.
A Division Bench of Chief Justice Abhay Shreeniwas Oka and Justice Vishwajith Shetty had passed this direction after it noted inaction on the part of the State government and Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) in coming up with a scheme for identification of these children.
