3 months salary of transport staff: Rs 634.50 crore

Bengaluru : Deputy Chief Minister and Transport Minister Lakshmana Sawadi met Chief Minister Yeddyurappa and requested him to release Rs 634 crore 50 lakh in 3 months’ salaries to the staff of transport companies. In response, the chief ministers and the staff of the transport agencies paid a total of Rs 634 crore to Rs 50 lakh for the three months’ salary of October, November and December. The relevant authorities have been instructed to release them immediately.
As a result, the state government has taken action to release a total of Rs 634.50 per month for 75% of the salary of the transport personnel. The remaining 25 percent of salaries will be paid by the transportation companies.
This has resulted in the payment of wages to about 1,30,000 personnel of KSRTC, BMTC, Northeast and Northwest Transport Corporation.
