Coronavirus infected 262 students and 160 teachers after schools reopen in Andhra Pradesh

Amaravathi: Covid 19 has infected 262 students and 160 teachers after schools opened in Andhra Pradesh.
On November 2, the Andhra Pradesh government opened schools for 9th and 10th graders. The schools were started with the rules applicable to the Covid Guidelines. Only 15 to 16 children were accommodated in each room, the government said. However, 262 students and 160 teachers have been infected with coronavirus.
Talking about this, the Commissioner of School Education, V Chinna Veerabhadradu said, “Coronavirus statistics are not alarming for school students. This is because when compared to the number of students attending schools after school starts, the number of students who get infected is not as high as 1.0%. It is wrong to say that students have been infected since the schools started. The infection may have infected them out of school or any other means. According to statistics provided by the authorities, 9.75 lakh students were enrolled in the state’s 9th and 10th grades, of which 3.93 lakh students attended, 1.11 lakh teachers, more than 99,000 thousand attended institutions on Wednesday. Of these 1.11 lakh teachers, only 160 have been infected. Yet the health of students and teachers is important to us.
If schools are not opened, it will affect poor students who cannot afford online classes. This is troubling for girls in tribal and rural areas, as it is worried that parents may advance a child marriage if the teenagers stop attending school.
