Hindu temple construction in Islamabad: Pak Ulema Council support

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) has expressed its support for the construction of a Hindu temple in Islamabad. It is of the view that it is wrong to dispute the construction of the shrine.
We condemn the controversy over the construction of the shrine. The stance of extremist teachers is not correct. PUC president Hafiz Mohamed Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi said that the Ulema Council of Pakistan would convene a meeting and explain the Islamic think-tank’s ideas.
Ashrafi explained that the Constitution of Pakistan clearly defined the rights of Muslims and non-Muslims living in the country.
Non-Muslims have the right to have their places of worship under the Constitution and Sharia. But Ashrafi is upset that those who oppose the construction of the shrine are misinterpreting Sharia law.
