Bengaluru : We bring you a story of pride and perseverance from our very own police force. An officer who maintains law and order on the streets is now making waves on the national sports stage. PSI Rajender Singh, a resident of Yeshwanthpur, Bengaluru, has brought immense pride to the state by clinching two silver medals at a prestigious national-level championship held in Jammu and Kashmir.”

Rajender Singh secured two Silver Medals in the Fencing event at the 2nd All India Police Kabaddi Cluster Championship 2025-26, recently concluded in Jammu and Kashmir.

  • A highly qualified professional, he holds an M.Com degree.
  • Before donning the khaki uniform, he worked at the multinational firm Bosch. In 2023, he was recruited into the Karnataka Police Department under the Sports Quota.
  • He is currently serving as a Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) at the prestigious Vidhana Soudha Police Station in Bengaluru.

This championship was far from an easy feat. It wasn’t just a battle between states; Rajender Singh competed against 32 elite athletes from India’s powerhouse central security forces, including:

  • SSB (Sashastra Seema Bal)
  • CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force)
  • CISF (Central Industrial Security Force)
  • BSF (Border Security Force)

His journey to the podium was marked by intense grit. In a nail-biting Quarter-final, he defeated the strong SSB team with a score of 15-12. He continued his momentum in the Semi-finals, overcoming the CISF challenge with a 15-13 victory to storm into the finals.

Success is rarely a solo journey. Rajender credits his achievement to the expert guidance of his coach, Irom Deban Singh.

“Having previously represented India and won a gold medal in the South Asian Championship, Rajender Singh is now spreading his sporting brilliance within the Police Department as well. Congratulations are pouring in for this achiever from the Commissioner of Bengaluru City Police, Shri Seemanth Kumar Singh IPS, the Karnataka Police Department, friends from the media, and sports enthusiasts alike.”
