Attack on wistron company plant 128 arrested: Kolar SP Karthik Reddy

Kolar: Police have arrested 128 accused in the attack on Kolar’s iPhone manufacturing plant.

Protesters attacked wistron Corporation, an iPhone maker on Saturday in Narasapur, Kolar. A complaint was lodged at the police station. Kolar SP Karthik Reddy said that the police have now arrested 128 accused in the case.

Four cases have been registered in the case, three of which were registered by wistron Corporation and one by the police for obstructing their duties. The arrest process is based on videos of the attack. Video of the attack was viral on social networking sites. “We have operated based on these videos,” SP said.

More than 300 workers have been detained by the police in connection with the case. Of these, 128 workers were videotaped before a judge on Sunday. The video conference was held in the back room of Kolar’s SP office. More than 128 accused in 5 private buses were transported to KGF, Chintamani and Chitradurga jail.

Wistron Corporation has been visited by senior police officers including Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Pratap Reddy and Central Police Inspector General Semant.

Investigations by the agency’s staff havenow been assigned to secure two district armed reserve police teams, the KSRP team and the civil police at the manufacturing plant. Semant Kumar Singh said police teams were investigating company representatives and employees to check if there was any agency behind the attack. Likewise, the company was damaged by the attack, and the company could be restarted within a week after the repair was completed.
