Karnataka : A public interest petition has been filed by the Karnataka government seeking an explanation from the Karnataka Govt.
Ms Indira Priyadarshini, an advocate , has filed the petition saying that hundreds of people from Hosur and other places on the Tamil Nadu-Karnataka border are facing serious difficulties for their lives as the government has made it mandatory for everyone to register in the Aarogya Setu app before entering the state.
E-passes are available after employees upload their ID cards. However, unorganized sector workers are not issued any kind of cards.
Many people from Hosur and Bhagal Taluk need to enter the representative state for their daily living. However, they have to wait an hour to register their names on the portal on a day to day basis. The Government of Karnataka has blocked the central government’s unlocking guidelines. So it has had a negative impact on the lives of people living on the border.
As per the Unlock 3 Guidelines, no restrictions should be placed on interstate and state transportation of persons and goods, and no special permission is required for travel.
However, according to guidelines issued by the Department of Health, it is mandatory for people from other states to register on the Aarogya Setu app. The court, seeking an explanation from the government, adjourned the hearing to August 24.
