Chamarajpet Eidga Maidan not allowed to celebrate Ganesha festival: B. Z. Zameer Ahmed Khan

Bengaluru: MLA Jameer Ahmed Khan said that Ganesha festival is not allowed in Idga Maidan in ChamarajPete.
Speaking to the media when he arrived to inspect the venue for Independence Day flag hoisting at Idga Maidan, he created a controversy by saying that only the Tricolor flag hoisting for Independence Day on August 15, Republic Day on January 26 and Kannada flag hoisting on Kannada Rajyotsava are allowed at Idga Maidan.
BBMP has already said that the Idga Maidan is the property of the Revenue Department. But, the State Wakf Board is arguing that it is our property. However, this is a legal matter and it will be decided by the Waqf Board, said Zameer. Generally, all waqf and muzarai properties across the state were under the revenue department before 1999. Then MLA Zameer informed that it was divided when S.M Krishna was the CM.
On the background of the 75th year of independence, this was the first time that the tricolor flag was hoisted at Idga Maidan. Jameer said that this practice will be continued every year.
