Paying at the Post Office is easy; QR code system implemented from today!

Bengaluru:   Accepting digital payments to make transactions easier at post offices has begun. 

The system has been in effect since then, and due to public demand, 56 head office (HO) offices across Bangalore, including 7 in Bengaluru, have started accepting QR code based payments for all transactions.

Until now digital payments have been accepted using only Cash or India Post Payment Bank. Now, with the implementation of the Digital Change Form across India, 800 HOs will accept all forms of digital payment.

The QR payment system is the most commonly used payment system, and until now cash has been accepted at post offices. Credit and debit cards could not be paid because there were no POS machines.

The chief postmaster general, Karnataka Postal Circle, said there was “pressure from the public to adopt digital payments.
