An unexpected operation by traffic police in Bengaluru

Bengaluru : The city traffic police on Wednesday carried out an unexpected operation to prevent traffic violations and to pay fines for cases registered, with 8362 cases being fined Rs 43 lakh.

Out of these 3697 cases, Rs 12,36 lakh has been collected as fines, said

In the past, the traffic police had recently registered over 95 lakh traffic violations, amounting to Rs. 390 crore had to be collected.

Notice has been issued to lot of people who has not paid the fines. Those  vehicles will be soon be caught and fined, officials said.

The operation, which took place between 11.30 am and 2 pm , cost Rs. 43,09,944 lakhs have been fined. Of the 4,665 new cases registered, a sum of Rs.  Rs.12.36 lakh has been fined in 30,65,150 fines and 3,697 for the old cases.
