Peshawar: The head of a Pakistan-based banned Lashkar-e-Islam militant organization in southern Afghanistan has been assassinated in the Manghal Bagh blast, the new chief of the organization has been named.
Lashkar-e-Islam has named Zala Khan Afridi as its new boss. Afridi, a close associate of Mangal Bagh, has been named as the new chief after members of the organization met in Bandar area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province
Zala Khan Afridi belonged to the Akakhel tribe of Bara Tahsil in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Turayb alias Aznabi, son of Shura (Council) Bagh, has been nominated as the new deputy commander.
Bagh’s head was tied at US $ 3 million, involved in several terrorist activities in southern Afghanistan. Bagh and two of his associates were killed in a bomb blast this morning in Bandar Dara area of Achin district of Nangarhar, the Express Tribune newspaper reported.
