How was Sharanya, who went missing while trekking in the forests of Kodagu, rescued? How did she survive 3 days without food or water?

Sharanya, who used her presence of mind to stay in an open area so she would be visible to a drone, has been found. Sharanya, a young woman from Kerala who went missing on April 2 while trekking at Tadiyandamol Hill in Kodagu, was located after a search operation by the Forest Department, the Naxal Anti-Force, and local residents. Everyone is amazed at how she survived for four days in the dense forest with just a single bottle of water.
What did Sharanya do?
Sharanya stayed in an open space so that she would be spotted by a drone. After emerging from the forest, she spoke with the media and shared her thrilling experience.
“I am healthy. When I lost my way in the forest, I tried to contact my friends, but my phone was switched off. I only had one bottle of water with me. I knew the rescue team might use drones to find me, so I mostly stayed in open areas where a drone could see me,” she explained. It can be said that this presence of mind saved her life.
Sharanya anticipated the arrival of the drone camera
As drones began flying over the forest, Sharanya stood on high, relatively open ground. Once she was spotted by the Forest Department’s drone camera, she was rescued. Following this, department personnel navigated the difficult path to her location and brought her back safely. Had she hidden inside tree hollows or beside rock boulders out of fear of wild animals, she might not have been visible to the drone camera.
Sharanya, a techie and resident of Nadapuram in Kerala’s Kozhikode, was found safe after a full four days. As soon as the search team located her, she called her mother. Overwhelmed with joy, her mother shed tears of happiness.
“A billion salutations,” says the mother
As soon as Sharanya was brought to an area with a phone signal, a call was made to inform her mother. Upon hearing the news, her mother, with eyes full of tears, said, “I cannot express my happiness. Many thanks to the Forest Department staff; I offer a billion salutations to you from here.” Meanwhile, Sharanya also spoke to her mother, saying, “I am healthy, don’t worry, I will come home soon.”
